Key fob and smart key programming at your vehicle
A key is two things at once: a cut blade and a coded chip. When the blade is fine but the car refuses to start, the chip is the problem — and that is a programming job, not a new key.
Our technicians carry programming equipment for transponder keys, key fobs and push-to-start smart keys for most makes and models, and program them at your vehicle rather than in a workshop. My key fob stopped working. Do I need a new one?
Not always. A dead battery is by far the most common cause and takes seconds to fix. Before you pay for a replacement fob, it is worth having someone check the battery, the buttons and the vehicle's receiver — we would rather charge you for a battery than sell you a fob you do not need.
Why the door works but the engine will not start
The mechanical blade still turns the lock, but the immobiliser will not release until it reads the correct transponder code. When that code is lost — usually after a battery change, a jump start or an electrical fault — the car is immobilised even though the key physically fits. Reprogramming restores it.
Losing a fob is a security problem, not just an inconvenience
A lost fob is a working key to your vehicle in someone else's pocket. When we program a replacement we can also deactivate the missing one, so it no longer unlocks or starts the car.
